Payroll Analyst

ELS is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Payroll Associate to work from our corporate headquarters in Chicago. The Payroll Associate is responsible for processing of all payroll changes, timesheets, and overseeing payroll related transactions such as biweekly transmission of the payroll for the company.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Manage bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate entry of data and timely transmission of payroll data to outsourced payroll provider
  • Process manual checks as requested
  • Process employee data and changes as necessary
  • Maintain payroll data with highest degree of confidentiality
  • Project Management as ELS rolls out new processes and procedures
  • Provide assistance to employees regarding paychecks, payroll-related issues, and human resources policies as they relate to time off, pay, etc. 
  • Create payroll related reports as needed
  • Problem Solving: collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make suggestions for change based on those conclusions

Requirements include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years experience in a payroll environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Detail oriented; highly proficient using spreadsheets with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent organization, project management and leadership skills
  • The ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and make sense of complex situations
